3 Steps to Readiness
Structured approach to Emergency Readiness

The goal of REM4 is to simplify the creation, implementation and deployment of Emergency Operating Plans. We work with our clients to insure that comprehensive crisis planning is implemented based on the most recent NFPA 1600 and Department of Homeland Security guidelines.
REM4 takes a very structured approach to the creation and implementation of crisis plans. We know that the three keys to implementing a complete readiness process are Crisis Awareness, Plan Creation and Plan Maintenance. We work with our clients to develop, implement and maintain custom EOPs that meet their specific needs. Throughout the process, we provide technology tools to help teams create custom-tailored plans that can be implemented easily and revised as needed. Our web-based and mobile tools provide extensive knowledge bases that assist with the rapid development of your plan and then helps with every facet of maintaining the plan.

STEP 1: Create Awareness
Our first step in working with a client is to conduct and initial training for Readiness and Emergency Management Awareness. This is typically conducted as a half-day training with the goal of educating key administrators and managers on the fundamentals of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The objective is to communicate the need for proper planning and outline the steps that will need to be taken to create, implement, and maintain an Emergency Operating Plan (EOP).
During this first step, key personnel that will be involved are identified and the planning process is outlined in detail. The awareness and support of management is critical to proceed with the process. The REM4 Online Command and Mobile Command programs are introduced as the key tools that will be used throughout the process. Exposure to the REM4 knowledge base of Hazards specific to the customer's application introduces potential crisis that will need to be addressed.

STEP 2: Create Plans
During this step, your key personnel and crisis teams are engaged by the planning tool to create comprehensive plans, either from scratch or by enhancing existing plans. Through a process that involves an all-hazards, all phases (Prepare, Prevent/Mitigate, Respond, Recover) approach, a comprehensive EOP is created. The finished product is a new or improved plan that incorporates the Incident Command System (ICS) and helps clients comply with the Dept. of Homeland Security's NIMS guidelines.
Our clients use the REM4 tools and template knowledge base to create and/or enhance their customized EOPs. The REM4 programs, allow users to select from a large database of known hazards to enable rapid development of the EOP. For each hazard selected to be addressed, the program will provide lists of recommended activities by phase - Preparation, Prevention/Mitigation, Response and Recovery. The user will simply select activities to be included and assign the activities to individual crisis team members thus creating full accountability to the plan. Every item - Hazards, Activities, and Assignments is fully customizable.

Online Command
The REM4 Online Command program is the heart of our system. It is a web-based configuration, planning and tracking tool that enables our clients to create and maintain all aspects of their Readiness and Emergency Management plans. In addition to managing the EOP, the tool also stores critical information such as personnel training profiles, crisis teams, training and drill schedules, audit information, checklists and floor plans.
Mobile Command
The REM4 Mobile Command app compliments the Online web-based program by giving users access to all readiness and EOP information on a hand-held device. This app is the key to giving all personnel complete access everywhere, every time. The app is currently available for iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and any Windows based laptop.
STEP 3: Maintain Plans
Once EOPs are migrated, enhanced or created from scratch, they are safely stored on our cloud-based Online Command program and easily accessed at any time via a web browser or mobile device. Crisis team members, first responders, partners or anyone needing critical information can access the most up-to-date information available. Having this information easily accessible offers significantly improved coordination and communication among businesses, local government, law enforcement, fire and other first responders.
In addition, the program tracks personal training profiles, site events, trainings and drills. This enables risk managers to keep appropriate personnel trained and to keep everyone practiced and prepared for any possible emergency.
Safety or Vulnerability Audits are an additional fundamental component of Plan Maintenance that is tracked and managed by our system. Safety is the responsibility of everyone. A safety audit is a tool that provides a snapshot of the level of safety and identifies those areas that need improvement. This Prevention/Mitigation activity helps to ensure that everyone is in a safe and secure environment.
